Becoming a UGC creator in Spain takes three things: learning the short-video format brands pay for, building a 3-video portfolio, and setting up as self-employed (autonomo) so you can invoice legally. You do not need followers, because brands buy your videos to publish on their own channels and ads. Here is the full roadmap, with realistic EUR rates and the Spanish admin side explained simply.
Why is Spain a strong UGC market right now?
Spanish brands are shifting budget away from classic influencer deals and toward UGC: authentic, phone-shot videos that perform better on TikTok, Reels and Meta ads. Ecommerce, apps, beauty, food and travel brands are the most active buyers, with most of the demand concentrated around Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.
There is a second advantage: Spanish-language content travels. A brand based in Madrid can reuse your video for Mexico, Colombia or Argentina, which makes creators who film in Spanish unusually valuable. And if you are an English speaker living in Spain, international brands targeting the Spanish market hire in English too.

What are the 5 steps to get started?
1. Learn the format
Spend a week studying real UGC ads on TikTok and in the Meta ad library. Note the 3-second hook, the problem, solution, proof structure, and the closing call to action.
2. Build a 3-video portfolio
You do not need clients yet: film products you already own (a skincare product, an app, a coffee maker). Make one testimonial, one unboxing and one demo. Natural light and a recent phone are enough.
3. Create your packages
For example: one 30-second video with 1 revision delivered in 5 days, or a 3-video pack with different hooks. Clear prices, clear deadlines.
4. Find your first brands
Set up a profile on UGC marketplaces, post with #UGCEspaña on TikTok and LinkedIn, and pitch Spanish DTC brands that already run ads.
5. Get paid safely
Always work with upfront payment or payment protection. More on that below.
How do you invoice legally in Spain (autonomo and RETA)?
To invoice Spanish brands legally, the standard route is registering as self-employed:
- Register with Hacienda (the Spanish tax agency) using form 036 or 037, declaring an advertising or content-creation activity.
- Join RETA, the special social security regime for the self-employed. Your monthly contribution is based on your real income, and a reduced rate for new freelancers exists.
- Charge IVA (Spanish VAT) on invoices to Spanish brands, generally at the standard rate, with quarterly filings.
Important: this is general information, not legal or tax advice. A gestor (a Spanish accountant, roughly 30 to 60 EUR per month) will handle the registration and your filings, and is worth it from your very first order.
How much do UGC creators charge in Spain?
Typical ranges in the Spanish market:
- Single 30 to 60 second video: 50 to 150 EUR when starting out.
- Experienced creators with a strong portfolio: 150 to 300 EUR or more per video.
- 3-video pack: 250 to 600 EUR.
- Paid extras: ad usage rights, category exclusivity, scriptwriting, rush delivery.
Rule of thumb: always price ad usage rights separately. A video a brand will run as a Meta or TikTok ad is worth more than one made for their organic feed.
Where do Spanish brands look for creators?
| Channel | What it gets you |
|---|---|
| UGC marketplaces | The most direct channel. On UGC MATCH your profile and packages are free, there is only a 10% commission when an order completes, and you keep 90%. Other platforms in the space include Collabstr, Billo and Insense, with different commission or subscription models. |
| Fiverr | Real demand, but heavy international competition and downward price pressure. |
| Social media | #UGCEspaña and #UGCcreator on TikTok and LinkedIn work as a shop window. |
| Direct outreach | DTC brands already running ads need fresh content every month. |

How do you get paid safely (payment protection)?
The biggest risk for a new creator is delivering a video and never getting paid. Payment protection solves it: the brand pays upfront, the money is held securely (on UGC MATCH, via Stripe), and it is released to you once you deliver and the brand approves.
In practice: creating your profile is free, you publish your packages, the brand pays when ordering, and you receive 90% when the order completes. No monthly fees, no hidden costs.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need followers to become a UGC creator in Spain?
No. Brands publish your videos on their own accounts and ads. They evaluate your portfolio, not your audience size.
Can I work with Spanish brands without living in Spain?
Yes. Brands hire remote creators all the time. In that case you invoice under your own country's rules; the autonomo route applies to residents of Spain.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
It helps a lot, since Spanish-language UGC is what most local brands want. That said, international brands targeting Spain also commission videos in English.
How much does it cost to start?
Very little: a recent phone, natural light and a lavalier mic (15 to 30 EUR). The gestor fee only kicks in once you register to invoice.
