For kids and family products, creator video beats any production, because parents believe other parents. At the same time it is the category with the strictest preconditions.
What must be settled before filming
- Consent of those with parental responsibility, in writing, and explicitly for advertising use, not just for the recording.
- Scope and duration, because footage of children is more often requested to be withdrawn than other material.
- Data protection in frame: no school routes, no house numbers, no name tags.
- The no face option. Hands, shoulders, details. Many German brands now prefer this, and the videos lose nothing by it.
What the video has to show
- Safety markings, visible in frame.
- Assembly and handling, with real timings.
- Cleaning, because it decides everything in daily life.
- From what age to what age the product is genuinely useful.
- The space it takes in the home.
The tone that sells
Parent to parent, without perfection. An untidy kitchen and a line like "on the second day it finally worked" build more trust than any flawless shot.
What may not be promised
Nothing about sleep, development, health or safety beyond the actual certification. That is legally sensitive and expensive in reputation terms.
What to buy for a test
Three creators with children of different ages, six variants. The age on screen decides whether parents recognise themselves.
