Becoming a UGC creator in Italy requires no audience and no expensive gear. It requires three things: a few videos to show, the ability to issue an invoice, and prices that hold up.
1. Shoot three or four sample videos
With products you already own, at home, on your phone. A 30 second testimonial to camera, an unboxing, a demo with close-ups. These are shot on your own initiative: nobody commissioned them, and that is normal. They exist to show how you speak, frame and edit.
Practical rule: two out of three videos in the niche you want to cover. A focused portfolio converts far better than a scattered one.
2. Sort out the tax side
This is the point that stops most Italians, and it is solved before the first order, not after. To invoice a company you need a tax registration: in Italy the usual route is a partita IVA, often under the flat rate regime for beginners.
The practical consequence is simple: without an invoice, many company clients and all agencies cannot pay you, which cuts you off from the best clients. Details in partita IVA for UGC creators.
3. Set realistic prices
60 to 130 euros for a first testimonial, more in Milan, less in the south. Do not start too high with no reviews, and do not undersell at 30 euros hoping for volume: it attracts clients who will not come back at full price.
Above all: bill ad rights as a separate line, never included by default. It is the costliest mistake of the first months.
4. Make your profile findable
A photo showing your face, a one line description with niche and language, three or four featured videos with the best first, packages with visible price and turnaround. A profile without prices gets fewer orders than one that says clearly what it costs.
5. Land the first order
Two channels in parallel: a marketplace, where brands arrive already intending to buy, and direct outreach to twenty or thirty brands already advertising on social, with a short message, one link, one price.
On UGC MATCH the profile is free, the brand's payment is held at order and released on approved delivery, and you keep 90% of the package price.
