Going from one off jobs to a real business does not depend on producing more videos. It depends on changing the structure of your income: from charging per piece to charging per month.
The monthly package, the main lever
A client who buys three videos once is worth three hundred dollars. The same client on a monthly package of three pieces is worth three thousand six hundred a year.
The conversion is simple and almost nobody does it. When you deliver the second job, send a proposal: "I can see you need fresh creative every month. I can set up a package of three pieces a month at this price, with fixed delivery on the tenth and the twenty fifth."
Half the brands running paid media say yes, because it solves a planning problem they already had.
The four clients that change everything
With four monthly packages, your base is covered before the month begins. That is the moment the craft stops being a series of jobs and becomes a business.
Everything else, one off projects and new clients, becomes profit on top of that base rather than survival.
How to raise rates without losing clients
Apply the new price only to new clients for two or three months. Once you see they still hire you at that level, tell recurring clients a month in advance.
Offer them a package at the old price before the date. Those who accept give you cash; those who leave make room for better clients.
A creator who does not raise prices in a year is lowering their real rate, especially in Argentina.
Learning to say no
This is the habit that separates a busy creator from a profitable one. Say no to the client who wants unlimited rights without paying, the one who changes the brief three times, the one who pays late twice in a row.
Every no frees the calendar for a better yes. It is not a stance: it is capacity arithmetic.
When to delegate
When editing consumes more hours than production and selling combined. Handing the edit to an hourly editor frees up what pays best: filming and selling.
Before that point, delegating is a cost. After it, it is an investment.
The sign that you have arrived
You start turning work away. Not out of arrogance, but because the calendar is full at a price that suits you.
That is the moment to raise the rate again. The market is telling you that you are cheap.
Where to go next
Scaling is a structural decision, not an effort one. Our guide on how to become a UGC creator covers the base it is built on.
