Aguascalientes is small, prosperous and growing quickly, which is an unusual combination. For a creator it means a market where being good and being present is enough to become the local default within a year.
Why a small market can be better
There are fewer clients but also almost no competition, and the ones who exist talk to each other constantly. In a city this size a reputation spreads in months rather than years, and a creator with eight good deliveries becomes the name everybody mentions.
What the local economy buys
Automotive manufacturing, textiles, agriculture and a service sector that grew with them, plus a genuinely active retail and restaurant scene for a city this size. The mix means you are not dependent on a single industry cycle.
The fair is the annual event
The Feria de San Marcos dominates the local calendar and pulls in national brands, sponsors and enormous foot traffic. Content around it is commissioned months ahead and it is the single best moment of the year to be visible to clients from outside the state.
Working with capital clients remotely
Being outside the main markets is not a limitation when the deliverable is a file. Many creators here film for Mexico City and Guadalajara brands who never visit, and the lower cost of living means the same rate goes further.
The risk of a small market
You can run out of local clients. Build the remote pipeline early rather than waiting until the city is saturated, because the transition takes a few months and is much easier when you are not desperate.
