There are two ways to hire a creator in Spain: go through a marketplace or find them and write. They cost differently, but the difference is rarely in the fee.
What direct outreach really costs
Searching for profiles, vetting them, writing, waiting, negotiating, clarifying rights, handling payment and checking the invoice. For a first campaign with three creators, that is easily two full working days of a marketing person.
Why in Spain the invoice decides more than the price
A cheap quote is worth nothing if the invoice cannot be booked. If a mandatory detail is missing, if the creator is not registered, or if withholding is applied incorrectly, accounts cannot pay, and a one week project becomes three. A marketplace standardises exactly that part: consistent documents, a payment structure and a written record of what was agreed.
Where the risk sits
In direct: paying someone you do not know upfront, or receiving delivery with no written rights agreement.
In a marketplace: choosing the wrong profile because the listing is well made. The remedy is the same in both cases, ask for an unpublished sample.
Which to use for the first campaign
The marketplace. The first campaign exists to learn which message works, not to optimise unit cost. Reducing variables is worth more than saving a fee.
When to move to direct
After two or three jobs with the same person. The process is settled, the rights are clear and invoicing is resolved, so the direct route stops costing time.
