The structure of a UGC script is the same everywhere: hook, problem, product, result. In Germany, though, something else decides whether it works: whether the claim is evidenced.

Why hype does not work here

German audiences respond to exaggerated promises with scepticism, not interest. "The best product ever" lowers credibility instead of raising it. What works instead is specificity: a number, a timeframe, a comparison you can follow.

The most effective building block in German UGC is not the superlative, it is the qualification: "it is not perfect, but", "it worked for me because". An admitted drawback makes everything after it more believable.

Hooks that work

  • "For three years I did this wrong."
  • "After four weeks it looked like this."
  • "I was sceptical, honestly."
  • "This cost me 40 euros and solved one specific thing."
  • "The difference was smaller than expected, but it was there."

All of them start from the problem or the result, none from the product name.

The structure

0-3s hook, 3-10s the concrete situation, 10-25s the product in use shown rather than described, 25-30s result and a spoken call to action.

Prepare only the first line word for word. The rest has to come in the moment, otherwise the script is audible.

The practical tip

Shoot one video body and three openings. You deliver three testable ads for the price of one, and in Germany that is appreciated precisely because clients think in test series.
