Trends expire in days and brands approve in weeks. That mismatch is why most videos trying to ride a trend arrive when nobody uses it any more, and end up looking worse than if they had skipped it.

Do not promise a specific trend

If your pitch says you will use a particular audio or format, you are committing to something that may be dead by the time approval lands. The correct wording is offering a piece "in whichever trend format is current at the time of filming", with freedom to choose.

Approval time is the variable

This format only works with brands that can approve within forty eight hours. If the client has three revision rounds and a legal department, offer them something else. Asking about approval time before pitching is what separates a good job from a predictable failure.

The trend is the wrapper, not the message

A well used trend carries an argument you already had. If the video says nothing about the product beyond imitating the format, it does not sell and it ages badly. Define the argument first and pick the trend after, never the reverse.

Care with what you copy

Some trends are built on a song with rights attached, on a joke that may age badly in two weeks, or on a sensitive subject. For a brand, riding the wrong one costs more than it gains. A creator who flags that is worth more than one who copies without looking.

What else to deliver

A version without the trend, carrying the same message. It costs little because it is the same shoot, and it leaves the brand material that works once the trend has passed. Offering it unprompted is one of the things that gets you hired again.
