Editing a UGC video is done on your phone, for free, in fifteen minutes. What changes in Italian is one thing, and nobody checks it: the automatic captions.

The five step workflow

StepWhat it involves
1. Cut all the dead airBreaths, hesitations, silences between sentences. It has the biggest effect on watch rate.
2. Put the hook at frame zeroNo intro, no introduction.
3. Insert close-upsEvery three or four seconds in the demonstrative part.
4. Add captionsThen correct them by hand.
5. Exportin 1080p, MP4, 9:16, without watermark and without copyrighted music.

The Italian caption problem

Automatic generators fail in predictable ways: missing apostrophes, accents on final syllables (perché, così, città), double consonants, and above all product names, which get transcribed by ear.

A wrong caption on a product name is the detail that makes a client doubt the care taken with everything else. Proofreading takes two minutes and changes how the delivery is perceived.

Practical rule: always proofread, and at minimum correct the brand name, the numbers and the words with a final accent.

Where captions go

Centred on screen, never at the bottom: the platform interface covers the lower band, and the text becomes unreadable exactly at the moment of the call to action.

What not to do

Adding transitions and effects, aggressive colour grading, skin smoothing, leaving the app watermark. Each of those turns UGC into advertising and reduces its performance.
