Where Italian brands really find creators, how to read a profile in two minutes, and the checks that avoid a lost budget.
Where Italian brands really look
Five sources, in decreasing effectiveness.
Existing customers, dealt with above, the most profitable and least used source.
Specialised marketplaces, where profiles arrive with displayed rates and turnarounds.
Recommendations from other brands in the same sector, which save the testing step.
Local professional groups, where urgent requests circulate.
And direct searching by category keywords, which gives many profiles but requires long sorting.
One local note: in a fabric made of small businesses, recommendation counts more than elsewhere. A brand that pays cleanly is recommended among creators, exactly as a reliable creator is recommended among brands.
Reading a profile in two minutes
Six signals, in this order.
The still image of the first video, which answers the question of technical command.
Category coherence: three close videos are worth more than ten scattered ones.
The presence of a rate or an order of magnitude, the sign of a professional.
The stated turnaround, in working days.
The ability to invoice, an absolute condition for a company.
And the sound quality, which eliminates half the profiles in ten seconds.
What not to look at: the follower count, unrelated to the quality of a video file you will publish yourself.
The three checks before paying
Ask for an unpublished example
A video visible everywhere may have been produced by somebody else. An unpublished example, or a short take made on request, lifts that doubt in a day.
Put the rights in writing
Duration, territory, channels, paid advertising included or not, and the price of an extension. Without those lines you are buying a file without knowing what you will be able to do with it.
Run a small test
A short, paid order with a real brief reveals respect for the deadline, understanding of instructions and sound quality. That test costs less than a failed campaign and it eliminates half the candidates.
Where to look, and what you find
| Channel | What it gives | Its limit |
|---|---|---|
| A platform | Profiles filterable by city and format | You must know what you want |
| A keyword search | Creators already active on the topic | Sorting takes time |
| A referral | An already proven profile | Little volume |
What you look at on a profile before writing
A full video, not a thumbnail. Sound, light and pace are judged in thirty seconds, and that predicts delivery best.
What makes a creator reply
A message naming the product, the intended use, the budget and the deadline. Requests with no budget go unanswered, whichever brand writes.
How many creators
Three sizing markers.
For a first trial: three different profiles on the same brief, which allows comparing something other than promises.
For regular production: about ten active profiles, twice as many in reserve.
And renewing a quarter of the pool each quarter, because faces wear out in advertising.
One last marker: the time spent searching is not the real cost, the real cost is the budget committed to a profile that will not deliver. Three checks of one hour each almost always avoid that loss, and they are done before payment, never after.
