Outreach brings jobs now, being found brings them continuously. In Germany the second route is still surprisingly open, because most creators only send messages.
What German buyers search for
Not "content creator". They type category plus format plus language: "UGC creator tools German", "product video supplements creator", "UGC creator kitchen Hamburg". If those terms are not in your profile and captions, you do not exist for that search.
The three places they find you
- The marketplace profile, where the person searching already has purchase intent.
- The Instagram and TikTok bio, with a category instead of a self description.
- LinkedIn. The German special case: for B2B, recruiting content and Mittelstand clients, LinkedIn is a real acquisition channel here, and almost no UGC creator uses it.
What to post to attract buyers
Not what brings reach, but what shows competence:
- The process of a delivery. Setup, takes, edit. Companies read reliability from it.
- Your version of a known ad. The most convincing portfolio there is.
- A short explanation of a market problem. It positions you as someone who understands the task.
The availability signal
State explicitly that you take work, with one line and a way to contact you. In Germany nobody writes to someone when it is unclear whether they operate commercially at all.
How long it takes
Two to three months of consistent posts in the same category before enquiries arrive regularly. Until then, active outreach remains your main income.
