Chasing clients works, but it does not scale. Getting found costs less time and brings enquiries that are already convinced. In Italy this second channel is still under used, which makes it more effective.

What brands actually search for

They do not search "content creator". They search the category and the format: "UGC creator food Milan", "supplement review video Italian", "UGC creator fashion Italy". If those words do not appear in your profile and captions, you do not appear in their results.

The three places where they find you

  1. Your profile on a marketplace, where whoever searches is already there to buy.
  2. Your Instagram and TikTok bio, with the category stated, not just your name.
  3. A pinned post explicitly saying you work with brands and showing one example.

What to post to attract buyers, not an audience

The content that brings clients is not the content that brings views. Three types work:

Behind the scenes of a delivery

How you filmed it, how many takes, what the setup looks like. Brands can tell whether you know how to work.

Your version of an existing ad

Take a known product, film your cut. It is the most convincing portfolio there is.

A short explanation of what a brand needs

It positions you as someone who understands the problem, not just someone who films.

The availability signal

Many Italian creators never state clearly that they accept work. One explicit line ("open for UGC collaborations, message me") changes more than ten extra posts, because it removes the doubt for someone who was about to write and did not know whether they were intruding.

How long it takes

Inbound is not immediate. Two or three months of consistent posting in the same category before enquiries become regular. Outreach pays now, inbound pays later, and you need both.
