Ushuaia sells itself on image and gets complicated on logistics. A creator here has the most recognisable landscape in the country and, at the same time, the highest shipping costs and a season that shapes everything you can charge.
The landscape is not the value proposition
Anyone can buy a photo of the channel. What they cannot buy is someone who is here in winter, dressed for it, knowing what time there is light in July. Your advantage is availability in difficult conditions, not the pretty backdrop.
The season rules, and it is not only summer
Cruises and trekking fill the southern summer, and skiing holds up the winter. In between there are quiet months. As in every tourist city, work is sold in the slow months to be delivered in the busy ones, not the other way round.
Shipping product is a real problem
Many mainland brands want content, but sending product here costs money and time. Spell it out in the pitch: who pays the shipping, how many days it takes, what happens if it does not arrive. A delivery deadline that ignores that will put you in default over something outside your control.
International tourism and another language
A large share of visitors are foreign. Offering English and Portuguese subtitles, or speaking English directly if you can, changes the kind of client that hires you and the price you can ask. It is the biggest differentiator available in this city.
Charge the real cost of being here
Living at the end of the world costs more and so does logistics. Do not compare your rate with a Buenos Aires creator: add local costs, travel within the province and weather that can push a shoot two days. Put it in writing before accepting the job.
