Brazil is one of the largest haircare markets in the world, and the Brazilian audience knows its own hair better than most brands do. Anyone who has gone through a transition to natural hair can describe porosity, definition, frizz and the effect of an active ingredient with a precision no agency script reaches. That is why creator video dominates this category.

Why the category depends on creators

Hair is individual. The same cream performs differently on 2A and on 4C hair, and the buyer knows it. An advertisement shows one result; a creator shows the result on their own hair, and the viewer is looking for someone whose hair resembles theirs.

That makes diversity of hair types a requirement of effectiveness, not of image. A brand that only publishes straight and wavy hair gives up most of the Brazilian market.

The formats that work

FormatWhat it shows
Real time applicationQuantity, technique, the result on the day and the day after.
The routine cycleHydration, nutrition and reconstruction in sequence, with the reason for each step. It is a concept the Brazilian audience already knows and searches for.
The result after a weekWhat nobody films and what decides the repurchase.
The two product comparisonOn the same hair, side by side, with a verdict.
The hard questionDoes it work on chemically treated hair, on low porosity hair, does it weigh down fine hair. Each of those is a search.

The claims that need care

A hair cosmetic cares, it does not treat a disease. Do not promise growth measured in centimetres per month, do not promise to stop hair loss, and do not use medical vocabulary for the scalp, because that moves the product into another category.

Claims such as formaldehyde free, sulphate free or vegan have technical and regulatory meaning: use the exact wording from the label. Straightening products in particular are a minefield, and the brand must supply in writing what may be said and what is forbidden.

Practical notes for the brand

Choose creators by hair type, not by follower count. A creator with 4B hair talking to 4B hair converts better than a generic account ten times the size.

Send enough product for a full cycle. A single application video does not answer the question the audience is asking.

Accept an honest result. A creator who says the product weighed down fine hair but was excellent on thick curls sells more than a generic compliment.

Agree usage rights by scope and term, including use of the image on packaging and point of sale material, which is common in this category.
