Health and pharmacy is the category where the claims regime, not the creative, decides whether a video can run. Natural health products and over the counter medicines each carry their own rules, and a creator will not know where the lines are unless the brief draws them.
Authorised claims are not the same as opinions
A product with an authorised health claim can have that claim stated, in the wording that was authorised. A creator improvising a paraphrase is not covered by that authorisation. The safest brief supplies the exact permitted sentence and forbids everything adjacent to it.
Personal experience is the safe register
Describing a routine, how something tastes, how it fits into a day and what the person observed is permitted territory. Diagnosing, promising relief, giving a timeframe or implying a product replaces medical advice is not. The distinction sounds subtle and it is the whole compliance question.
Pharmacists and professionals are a separate case
If a healthcare professional appears, different rules apply and their own professional body may restrict what they can endorse. That is not something to improvise on set. A brand wanting a professional voice engages one formally with counsel involved.
The pharmacy shelf and the online sale
A product sold in pharmacies needs content that helps someone find and choose it in an aisle. A product shipped direct needs content answering dosage, format, delivery and what to do if it does not suit them. Different videos, and mixing them serves neither.
Bilingual, and the label with it
As in every regulated Canadian category, packaging is bilingual and the French campaign is not optional in Quebec. Plan both versions with the same creator at the same shoot, and have both scripts reviewed before filming rather than after.
