Hot Sale is the online counterpart to El Buen Fin: a week at the end of May, entirely digital, and won by whoever had the creative ready in March.
It is an ecommerce event, not a retail one
There are no shop windows and no in store impulse. Everything happens on a listing page, in a feed or in an email, which means the video is the shop floor. A brand without prepared creative simply does not appear.
The competition is for attention, not shelf space
Every category is discounting simultaneously and the feed is saturated. The differentiator is rarely the depth of the discount, it is whether somebody stopped scrolling. That is a creative problem and it is solved with variants, not with a bigger percentage.
Prepare more variants than feels reasonable
Six to eight versions of the same offer, different openings, different creators. During Hot Sale creative fatigue happens in days rather than weeks because everybody is bidding on the same audiences at once.
Delivery promises are scrutinised
Buyers have been burned by Hot Sale deliveries arriving in June. A creator stating the realistic delivery window plainly is worth more than another discount claim, and it reduces the cancellations that follow an over promise.
Reuse the footage in June
The same product demonstrations without the sale overlay carry straight into the rest of the year. Film the clean version at the same session and you have paid once for two campaigns.
