The mistakes that cost Brazilian brands money in UGC are always the same eight, and each is solved by one sentence written before starting.

1. A vague brief

Asking for something authentic and spontaneous instructs nobody. Write the objective, the hook, the permitted claim and what must appear.

2. Buying rights you will not use

Global exclusivity for two years for a thirty day test is burned money. Buy ninety days and extend if it works.

3. Forgetting paid media rights

A video delivered for the feed does not automatically become an ad. If it is not in the contract, the campaign stops with the creative finished.

4. Approving by committee

Five people giving opinions turn a three hundred reais video into two weeks of rework. One person approves, with a deadline.

5. Paying late

In the Brazilian market this costs more than it seems: good creators leave your queue and the next campaign becomes slower and more expensive.

6. Choosing by follower count

In UGC follower count barely matters. What matters is whether the person can film, deliver on time and speak like your customer.

7. Sending the product at the last minute

Shipping in Brazil is not a detail. A late product means a late shoot, and a lost seasonal campaign.

8. Treating UGC as a one off campaign

One video is not a test. Without batching, comparison and refreshing, you will never know whether it works.

The mistake that is not on the list

The biggest of all is using UGC to hide a product or offer problem. If conversion is low because the price makes no sense, because shipping is expensive or because the page explains nothing, more video only makes more people discover that faster.

Creative amplifies what exists. If what exists is wrong, it amplifies the error.

The sentence that prevents most of this

In the order, write: objective, permitted claims, what must appear, format and deadline, rights by channel and by period, fee and payment date. Seven items, one page.

Brands that do this get predictability; the others repeat the eight mistakes every quarter and conclude that UGC does not work.
