Eyewear is a product people buy with their face, which makes it one of the most natural categories for creator video in Spain. A frame photographed on a white background tells a buyer almost nothing. The same frame on a real person, in daylight, from three angles, answers the only question that matters: will this suit me.

Who is buying this content

Two very different clients. Optician chains and independent shops, which sell a service as much as a product: eye tests, adjustments, warranties, contact lens subscriptions. And eyewear brands, including the growing number of Spanish direct to consumer brands that sell online and need a constant supply of faces.

Sunglasses add a third rhythm: a strong spring and summer season, with briefs arriving in late winter.

What to film

  • The face test. The same frame on different face shapes, filmed straight on and in profile, with a single sentence about who it suits.
  • The unboxing that ends in wearing. Case, cloth, the fit on the nose, how it feels after an hour.
  • The service. For a chain, the experience: the eye test, the adjustment, the wait time, the staff explaining lens options.
  • The problem video. Glare, screens, headaches, sport. Each of these is a search someone makes before buying.
  • The comparison. Two frames, one recommendation, no fake enthusiasm.

The claims to be careful with

Vision is health. Do not diagnose, do not promise that a lens will fix headaches or improve eyesight, and do not present yourself as an optician. Coatings, filters and progressive lenses have technical descriptions the brand can give you, and those descriptions are what should be said. If a brief involves contact lenses, ask the brand what it is allowed to claim, because they sit closer to a medical product than a fashion accessory.

Practical notes for the brand

Reflections are the whole technical problem of this category. A creator filming glasses needs a window, a light coloured wall and no lamp directly behind the camera, otherwise every shot shows the light source in the lens. Say it in the brief, or expect to reshoot.

Send frames that will actually be in stock when the campaign runs. It sounds obvious, and it is the most common cause of a wasted eyewear shoot.

Agree usage rights and, importantly, the duration for which the creator's face may be used. Eyewear content is a person's face attached to a brand, and that deserves a clear term rather than a vague forever.

Where to go next

Eyewear rewards briefs that respect how the product is really chosen. Our complete UGC guide for brands covers briefing creators, usage rights and running the content as a repeatable process.
