Pharmacies and dermocosmetics brands are among the best clients a UGC creator can have in Spain: they advertise constantly, they have year round budgets, and their products are bought on trust. They are also the category where a careless sentence turns a video into a legal problem, which is why the brands that work with creators want ones who understand the rules.

Why the category buys creator video

A pharmacy sells the same sun cream as the pharmacy two streets away. What differs is advice. Spanish consumers are used to asking a pharmacist what to use, and video reproduces that conversation at scale: someone explains a routine, shows the texture, says who it suits and who it does not.

Dermocosmetics brands buy the same thing for a different reason. Their products cost more than supermarket alternatives and they need someone to justify the difference in plain language.

What a creator may and may not say

Two rules cover most of the risk.

Do not make health claims. A cosmetic product cares for skin, it does not cure, heal or treat. Words like cure, treat, eliminates or medical grade change the legal category of the product and are not yours to use. If the brand wants a claim made, ask them to send it in writing, exactly as it should be said.

Do not present yourself as a professional. Do not wear a white coat, do not imply you are a pharmacist or a dermatologist, do not diagnose the viewer. The credible format is personal experience: this is what I used, this is what happened for me, ask your pharmacist.

Medicines are a separate world with far stricter rules. If a brief involves anything sold behind the counter, ask the brand to confirm what is permitted before you accept the job.

The briefs that work

The routine

Three or four products in order, morning or evening, with the reason for each step.

The texture close up

How it applies, how it absorbs, whether it leaves a white cast. This is what the product page cannot show.

The honest comparison

Two options for different skin types, with a clear recommendation of who each suits.

The pharmacy visit

For a chain, the experience of asking for advice, filmed with permission from the staff.

Seasonal

Sun protection before summer, dry skin in winter, allergies in spring. The category is highly seasonal and briefs arrive weeks in advance.

Practical rules for the brand

Send the permitted wording with the brief, not after the first delivery. Ask for a version without any claim so the video can run in more places. Agree the usage rights in writing, because dermocosmetics content is often reused in paid media for months. And keep the before and after honest: an exaggerated result damages the brand more than a modest one ever will.

Where to go next

Pharmacy is a category where compliance is part of the creative work. Our complete UGC guide for brands covers briefing, usage rights and how to run creator content as a repeatable process.
