The video that works on a product page is not the video that works in an ad. An ad has to interrupt somebody; a listing video has to close somebody who is already interested. Confusing the two wastes both.

The viewer has already decided to look

Nobody watches a product page video by accident. They are on the page, they are considering it, and they have one or two specific doubts left. The video's only job is to resolve those doubts, which means it can skip the hook entirely.

Answer the questions in the reviews

The reviews on your own listing and on competitors' listings are a free list of exactly what the video should address. Sizing, durability, what is in the box, whether it works as described. Film those, in that order.

No music, no personality, no edit tricks

Listing video is not entertainment. Steady shot, clear product, plain speech or no speech at all. The buyer is checking a fact, and anything stylistic is friction between them and the answer.

Marketplace rules are specific

Mercado Libre and Amazon each have their own requirements on length, aspect ratio, on screen text and what claims can appear. Check them before filming rather than re editing eight videos to fit a spec nobody read.

Silent viewing is the default

Most listing videos are watched without sound. If the information only exists in the audio, it does not exist. Show it, or put it on screen, or accept that most viewers will never receive it.
