In subscriptions the problem is never the first sale, it is the fourth payment. A good video brings signups, but the video that holds the business together is the one that keeps the customer paying next month.
Two different videos for two moments
The acquisition video shows the promise: what arrives, how often, for how much. The retention video shows real use in week three, when the novelty has faded and the box sits unopened by the door. Almost every brand produces the first and none the second, then complains about churn.
Transparency is the sales argument
In Spain lock in periods and small print trigger instant rejection. A creator saying naturally "you can cancel from your account in two clicks" raises conversion rather than lowering it. Hiding the exit retains nobody, it only delays the cancellation and adds a bad review.
Show the accumulated value
A subscription is judged on the total, not on one delivery. A video opening three boxes back to back and showing three months of accumulated items justifies the price far better than one perfect box. It is the hardest format to produce and the one that best defends margin.
The pause moment
Offering a pause instead of a cancellation saves more subscriptions than any discount, and almost nobody communicates it. A short video explaining the pause, sent at the right point in the lifecycle, recovers customers whose finger was already on the button.
What to measure
Do not look only at acquisition cost, look at how many months the people each creator brought in actually stay. Two creators with the same cost per signup can deliver customers with double the lifetime. That number changes who you hire again.
