Mercado Libre is the largest ecommerce channel in Mexico and the video that works on it looks nothing like the video that works on social. Treating them as the same asset wastes both.
The viewer is already on the listing
Nobody arrives at a listing video by accident. They are considering the purchase and they have a specific doubt. The video does not need a hook, it needs an answer, and it should deliver it in the first five seconds.
No music, no personality, no editing
This is a reference asset, not entertainment. Steady framing, clear product, plain narration or none. Anything decorative is friction between the buyer and the fact they came to check.
Answer the questions in the listing itself
The questions section on your own listing and on competing ones is a free brief. Whatever people keep asking is exactly what the video should show, in the order of frequency.
Respect the platform requirements
Length, aspect ratio, resolution and content rules are specific and they change. Check the current requirements before filming, because a video rejected on spec after eight versions were shot is an entirely avoidable cost.
Silent viewing is the default
Most listing videos play without sound. If the important information is only spoken, it does not reach most viewers. Show it, or put it on screen, and treat the audio as a bonus rather than the channel.
