Spain has more land under vine than any other country in the world, and several hundred wineries that sell online, export, or run visits. It is a large, permanent client base for creator video, and it comes with rules that decide what the video can be.
What wine brands actually need
Very little of it is a person drinking. What sells a bottle in 2026 is the story of where it comes from and the moment it belongs to: the vineyard, the cellar, the hands, the table, the food it goes with, the visit you can book.
The most reliable briefs are these five:
The place
Vines, soil, weather, the building. This is the difference between a bottle and a brand.
The process
Harvest, pressing, barrels, bottling. People are curious about how it is made and almost no winery shows it well.
The pairing
A dish and a wine, explained in one sentence each. Retail and export buyers love this because it fits any market.
The visit
Wine tourism is a business in itself, and the video sells a booking rather than a bottle.
The gift
Christmas and Reyes drive a large share of yearly sales, and briefs for that season are commissioned months ahead.
The advertising rules that matter
Alcohol advertising in Spain is restricted, and the details vary by region and by channel. The stable rules a brand and a creator should assume:
- No minors, anywhere near it. Not in frame, not as an audience, not implied.
- Do not link alcohol to driving, sport performance, work success, courage, or sexual success.
- Do not encourage excess. No shots, no bragging about volume, no drinking games.
- Do not present it as healthy. No health benefits, no medicinal wording.
- Respect platform rules and age gating, which are often stricter than the law.
The safest and most effective creative position is the one professionals already use: sell origin, craft and the table, not intoxication.
Practical notes
Ask the winery for the permitted claims about denomination, grape variety and awards, and use their wording. Denominations of origin have their own rules about what you may say.
Shoot the harvest when it happens. It is a few weeks a year and it is the single most valuable footage a winery can own, so plan it in advance rather than asking in November.
Agree usage rights with export in mind. A campaign that runs in another country may face different alcohol advertising rules, and a video shot without that in mind may be unusable there.
Where to go next
Wine rewards content that respects the product and its regulation. Our complete UGC guide for brands covers briefing, usage rights and running creator content as a repeatable process.
