Starting in UGC in Spain does not require an audience or expensive gear, but it does require form. Brands here work with invoices, payment terms and suppliers, and the creator who understands that in the first month moves much faster than the one who only films well.

Step 1: understand what you sell

You are not selling your profile. You are selling video files the brand will use on its channels, on its product page and above all in paid advertising. That is why follower count matters little, and audio, light and script matter a lot.

Step 2: film your first pieces

Do not wait for a client. Take three products you already use, in a sector that interests you, and film three different formats: a thirty second testimonial, a usage demonstration and a short unboxing.

Vertical, near a window, phone propped, microphone as close as possible. Cut every pause in the edit and add subtitles. That is already a portfolio.

Step 3: register as autonomo

This is the step that unlocks the most clients. A company or an agency cannot pay you without an invoice, and in Spain that invoice carries VAT and, when you are a professional invoicing another business, income tax withholding.

It is not an accounting detail: it is the difference between working with real brands and staying on small jobs paid by Bizum. If you are starting out, look into the reduced contribution schemes for new autonomos and talk to an accountant before your first large invoice.

Step 4: set your price

In Spain, a single video runs eighty to a hundred and fifty euros when you start and a hundred and fifty to three hundred with a solid portfolio. Packs of three to five videos sell between three hundred and fifty and nine hundred euros.

Paid media rights, exclusivity and whitelisting are charged separately and usually add thirty to a hundred per cent of the base price. Remember that what you collect is not what you invoice: the VAT is not yours and the withholding is kept by the client for the tax office.

Step 5: land the first clients

Write to brands whose product you genuinely use. Short message, two samples attached, clear price, delivery date. Small ecommerce brands answer fast because they need new creative every month.

In parallel, put yourself where brands search. A UGC marketplace profile with your niche, your languages and your prices makes you findable by national and international brands who would never come across your Instagram.

Step 6: move from one off jobs to recurring clients

Deliver on time, send two hook variations instead of one, and propose a monthly package. A brand burning ten creatives a month prefers a stable supplier to an occasional genius.

Where to go next

In Spain the path is clear: portfolio, autonomo registration, pricing with rights charged separately, and visibility. Our guide on how to become a UGC creator develops each step.
