On a product page the photos raise questions and the video answers them. Exactly how big, how it assembles, whether the material holds, whether the colour is accurate. A French seller with no video leaves those doubts open, and an open doubt becomes a return or a lost sale.

What to film

Real size, next to an everyday object. It prevents more returns than anything else.

Assembly or first use: actual duration, tools needed, what is in the box.

The material close up: texture, finish, behaviour in light.

The use in an ordinary home, not in a studio.

The answer to the most frequent objection from your own customer reviews.

What the platform forbids

A listing video is not free advertising: no prices or expiring promotions, no contact details, no external links, no unverifiable claims. Regulated categories add their own restrictions.

Deliver without a watermark and without unlicensed music: it is the most frequent cause of rejection.

What changes in France

The buyer compares price, delivery time and above all the returns policy. A video that shows the product honestly reduces returns, and the return rate is a direct cost for a seller.

If you also sell in Germany, Spain or Italy, plan a version without voice and with subtitles from the shoot. One session can feed four markets.

The contractual framing

State that the rights cover use on a marketplace listing, not only social media. It is a distinct use, often forgotten, and it is chargeable.

Also define who takes the product back after the shoot, and by when: reverse logistics is part of the real cost of the campaign.

Where to go next

On a listing, video is customer service, not decoration. Our complete UGC guide for brands covers briefing, usage rights and process.
