Canadian car buyers keep vehicles a long time and drive them through conditions that break things. That changes what a video has to prove, and it makes most manufacturer content useless here.
Winter is the differentiator
Cold starts, block heaters, winter tire changes, remote start, heated seats and how a battery behaves at minus twenty. These are the questions asked in October and answered by nobody in a glossy manufacturer film. A creator filming a real cold morning has proof that no studio can produce.
The dealership is the client nobody serves
Manufacturers produce their own content, but dealerships have budget, sell locally and have nothing. Service department explainers, trade in walkthroughs, winter preparation checklists and staff introductions all convert and all cost little to produce.
What a creator must not claim
Fuel economy figures, safety ratings, financing terms and anything about a competitor's product. These are regulated or contractual and belong to the manufacturer's official communication. A creator describes their experience of driving and using the vehicle, not its certified numbers.
Used and trade in is a video category
The doubt in a used purchase is condition. A walkthrough showing the wear, the tyres, the underside and the service history answers it in ninety seconds, and it is the format that separates a serious dealer from a classified listing.
The buying calendar
Winter tire season in October, tax refund season in spring, and model year clearance in late summer. Content produced in September covers two of those windows and avoids paying rush rates when everybody wants creators at once.
