Pet content has an advantage no other category holds: it stops the scroll effortlessly. The problem is that many brands stop there, with a charming video that sells nothing.

What actually converts

The animal's reaction

The first sniff, the moment it recognises the packaging, the insistence for more. It is the hardest social proof to fake.

The owner's problem, not the animal's

Hair all over the house, smell, a dog that will not eat, a cat that rejects everything. The person is the one buying.

The visible before and after

Coat, energy, teeth, behaviour. With a stated timeframe.

The usage demonstration

How a pipette is applied, how the food is portioned, how the litter tray is cleaned. Practical converts.

The sceptic's testimonial

"I tried four brands before this one." It converts better than direct enthusiasm.

Which creators to hire

The one with the right animal, not the one with the best profile. A large breed dog food brand needs a large dog; a senior cat brand needs a genuinely senior cat.

This is the dominant criterion in the category, above editing quality. A brand that ignores it buys beautiful videos with the wrong animal.

Look for owners who resemble your customer too: small city flat, house with a garden, family with children. Context sells as much as the product.

The brief that produces good material

Include: how the product is used, which owner problem it solves, how long the effect takes to show, three suggested hooks and the list of forbidden claims.

For animal health products that list is mandatory. Veterinary medicines and therapeutic claims are regulated, and the risk falls on the brand.

And one practical instruction: ask for several takes of the animal, because it does not cooperate. A good pet creator films twenty minutes to get eight usable seconds, and that has to be allowed for in the deadline and the price.

The Spanish calendar

The peaks are summer, with parasite treatments and travel, the return to school when the household routine changes, and Christmas. Winter works for coats and beds.

And one moment specific to the Spanish market: the weeks before the August holidays, when families look for transport and care solutions.

Where to go next

In pets, the winner is whoever has the right animal and films the owner's problem. Our complete UGC guide for brands explains the rest of the process.
