Cordoba is Argentina's second city and the one that looks least like Buenos Aires. It has one of the oldest universities on the continent, a software cluster that exports services worldwide, an agricultural machinery industry around it, and a mountain tourism economy that fills up every summer. For a creator working in user generated content, that mix offers something uncommon: clients with budget in categories almost nobody covers.
An economy of knowledge, farming and hills
The university sets the pace. Hundreds of thousands of students sustain young consumption, rentals, restaurants, gyms and a nightlife that communicates entirely through social media. The technology cluster grew around it: software companies billing in dollars, startups and regional offices that need to explain complex products in plain language.
The third leg is the interior: agricultural machinery, inputs, dealerships and the whole ecosystem around Cordoba farming. The fourth is mountain tourism, with Villa Carlos Paz and the valleys full of hotels, cabins and operators who depend on somebody choosing Cordoba while looking at a screen.
The categories that hire in Cordoba
- Technology and B2B: software, professional services, agritech and hardware. Simple demonstrations, someone explaining a benefit without jargon, real use cases.
- Education and edtech: private universities, courses, language schools and exam prep. Student voices and study routines.
- Health and aesthetics: clinics, dentistry, dermatology and physiotherapy centres, with the care that health advertising demands.
- Food and retail: restaurants, breweries, specialty coffee and local ecommerce shipping across the country.
- Agriculture and machinery: dealerships, inputs, workwear. Genuine rural voices are rare and highly valued.
- Mountain tourism: hotels, cabins, tours and adventure activities, with a strong peak between December and February.
How local creators find work
Word of mouth is still the engine. A satisfied client in Nueva Cordoba refers you to three more, and the city's business circuit is small enough for your name to travel fast. The most effective way to start is to pick one category, film two or three samples with products you already use, and send them by direct message to businesses in that same category.
For technology clients the game changes. They do not hire through Instagram: they hire a supplier who invoices, meets deadlines and understands a brief. Having your monotributo in order, a rate card and a portfolio sorted by category is worth more than any follower count. Adding your profile to a UGC marketplace does the rest of the work remotely: a brand in Buenos Aires or abroad finds you by niche and language without knowing you.
Working for the outside world from Cordoba
Nothing requires your clients to be in the province. You film at home or on location, edit on a phone or a laptop, and deliver the files online. Products arrive by post, the brief arrives as a document or a voice note, and payment is digital.
Cordoba also has a concrete cultural advantage: the city is already used to exporting services. The software sector has billed abroad for years, so the circuit of accountants, invoicing and international payment is familiar and accessible. For a creator who wants clients paying in dollars, that removes a lot of friction.
What creators charge
Rates depend on experience, usage rights and turnaround. The healthy practice in Argentina is to set the price in dollars and invoice in pesos at the exchange rate of the day, so inflation does not eat the gap between the quote and the payment.
As a reference: a single video for a local business starts at the equivalent of twenty five to fifty dollars. With a strong portfolio, seventy to a hundred and eighty dollars per video. Packages of three to five videos sell between two hundred and five hundred dollars. Technology and health clients usually pay above the local average because the ticket value of what they sell is high. Paid media rights and exclusivity are billed separately.
Where to go next
Cordoba combines real budget in technology, health and agriculture with far less competition than Buenos Aires. To turn that into paid work, our guide on how to become a UGC creator covers building the portfolio, setting prices and closing the first collaborations.
